EICMA 2025
EICMA (Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori) is the leading trade fair in the motorcycle industry in Europe and even internationally. This exhibition is held every year in Milan, Italy.
The major manufacturers and historic brands (BMW, Triumph, BSA, Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, etc.) were present with interesting new models. First up was Honda with its V3R 900 E-Compressor concept and its 3-cylinder engine. This engine is a world first with the integration of an electronically controlled compressor. From an aesthetic point of view, this concept is a very successful roadster with a bold and compact look, very close to a production motorcycle.
Norton, the historic British brand, presented a new range with three models: - a sports bike, the Manx R - a roadster, the Manx - and a trail bike, the Atlas These new models are very successful, with a sleek design, fluid lines and impressive details.
BMW unveiled the final version of its mid-size trail bike, the F 450 GS. But it also presented a machine that pushes the limits on the track, the BMW S1000RR, with a futuristic, sleek design and numerous aerodynamic details. And the return of the famous C1 scooter in a modern version with the Vision CE prototype. The brand is still present in the custom culture and dragster scene with the « BMW Titan Concept » prototype based on the BMW R 1300 R. A concept with a futuristic, radical and aggressive aesthetic signature. All mixed with bold graphics and high-tech materials.
BSA took advantage of this show to unveil a mid-size trail bike concept (a segment that is very popular at the moment) called Thunderbolt. This concept was designed by the KISKA design studio and features a « vintage trail » style.
Many « new brands » are gaining ground in the combustion engine and electric motorcycle industry. These include Ultraviolette, CF Moto, QJ Motor, TVS, Kove, etc. These brands are unveiling some very interesting models and concepts with bold designs.
As a designer, I naturally paid close attention to the details, colors & trims and finishes of these machines. Here are some details in photos.
